why can’t dark souls come out on pc today
My dad went by “John” after immigrating to America.
His actual name is “Li Wen Jung Di.” People mispronounced it, so he turned “Jung” into “John.”
I shortened my name to “Li” from “Maharlika,” for those who can’t pronounce it. A weird synchronicity.
He chose a middle name for me, “John.” His American name.
My uncles that live here are doctors. One of them, a younger brother, died from getting stuck by a contaminated needle used on a hepatitis patient. Apart from him, they’re all married and successful. There is an aunt of mine that lives in Hawaii, who wasn’t mentioned often. My father’s brothers that didn’t immigrate were gangsters.
Li Wen fled China because gang rivalries threatened his life (according to him). He was chased out of the Philippines for similar reasons, leaving a wife, children, and a professorship at a university (he’s still married to her). In America, he taught kung fu for over a decade, but the business failed and he now cuts hair and has 18-20 illegitimate children. His life failed in the Philippines, China, America. He said he picked “Maharlika” because it was a warrior’s name - a name for nobles, a name to encompass Filipino life. A name that meant wealth greater than riches. A name for a child that would carry him further.
I don’t think I like that legacy.
